Distribution of suspended sediment concentration at two stream stations in Manitoba. : En37-687/1979E-PDF
"Increasing costs of obtaining and analyzing suspended sediment samples have led to a reduced program in the number of total cross-sectional samplings and an increased reliance on data obtained from one vertical sampling by local observers or single point intake sampling by automatic samplers to compute suspended sediment yield. This project was initiated to study the cross-sectional variability of suspended sediment concentration and particle-size distribution in order to assist in the selection of sampling points or verticals and to assess the probable accuracy of the estimating methods"--Abstract, page v.
