"The mission of the Institute of Gender and Health (IGH) is to foster research excellence regarding the influence of gender and sex on the health of women and men throughout life, and to apply these research findings to identify and address pressing health challenges. IGH is the world’s first and only research funding institute with a specific focus on gender, sex and health – a niche that positions Canada as a global leader in this field. Accounting for gender and sex makes health research more rigorous and more equitably applicable to people’s real-world needs.
