"The Standing Committee on Audit and Oversight (the committee) has a mandate to provide oversight of the Senate's operations and expenditures. Since its creation in October 2020, the committee has considered the practices of audit and oversight bodies in other legislatures to learn from their models in establishing its own practices. In July 2023, a delegation of committee members met with the legislative audit and oversight bodies of the United Kingdom (U.K.) Parliament. This report summarizes what the committee learned from its U.K. counterparts, including matters related to best practices and key enablers"--Executive summary, page 6.
