Mr. Scheer told the House that on 2 December 2023, the Speaker appeared by video at the leadership election for the OLP as part of a tribute to outgoing interim leader of the OLP, John Fraser. Mr. Scheer continued by noting that the Speaker made these remarks from the Speaker’s office while dressed in his Speaker’s robes.
