"The study seeks to determine the relationships of physical and biotic components and processes which have produced the delta's landscape and wildlife capability, and to evaluate the short- and long-term effects of the altered water regime on the system. It aims to identify key environmental parameters that have to be considered in remedial measures designed to return the delta to a desirable state"--page 3.
