"This report presents the results of the Evaluation of the Lake Winnipeg Basin Initiative (Sub-program 1.3.7), which was conducted by Environment and Climate Change Canada's (ECCC's) Audit and Evaluation Branch, in fiscal year 2016-2017. The evaluation was identified in the 2015 Departmental Risk-Based Audit and Evaluation Plan and conducted in order to inform future program funding decisions, as current funding ends in March 2017. The evaluation also responds to the requirements of the Financial Administration Act and the 2009 Treasury Board Policy on Evaluation to evaluate all ongoing programs of grants and contributions and direct program spending at least once every five years. … The Lake Winnipeg Basin Initiative (LWBI) aims to contribute to restoring the ecological health of Lake Winnipeg, reduce pollution from sources such as agriculture, industry and wastewater, and improve water quality for fisheries and recreation …"--Page 4.
