"The St. Lawrence Centre initiated the Erosion Project in 1999 as part of a monitoring program focusing on the fluctuating water levels in the St. Lawrence River. The aim of this project is to understand the mechanisms involved in the erosion of the consolidated material that constitutes a large proportion of the banks and bed of the St. Lawrence River between Montreal and Quebec City"--Introduction.
