"The focus of the audit is the risk management framework at the Public Health Agency of Canada (the Agency). Effective risk management equips organizations so that they can respond actively to change and uncertainty by using risk-based information to enable more effective decision-making. The objective of the audit was to assess the effectiveness of the Agency’s risk management framework to support the delivery of its mandate. The audit examined governance, risk management and internal control considerations related to the risk management framework. The audit was conducted in accordance with the Treasury Board Policy on Internal Audit and the International Standards for the Professional Practices of Internal Auditing.
