5203 |a"The selection of rockets for use in aircraft employed in the ground strike role, is based in part upon the delivery accuracy of the aircraft-rocket system. The contributing error components, defined as aiming error, ballistic error and ballistic dispersion are assessed. It is found that the ballistic dispersion is significantly smaller than the ballistic and aiming errors. The contribution of bias, whether it comes from the pilot or the system was considered, especially the effect of bias and dispersion on total hit probability. The analysis was applied to the MK-4 and the MK-40 2.75-inch folding fin aircraft rockets when launched from CF-104 aircraft."--abstract (page i).
