"The basic objectives of the study have been to determine: (i) the needs of the Canadian furniture manufacturing industry for research and development into the technical aspects of products or manufacturing process improvements and for access to technical information on materials, machinery, processes, and products; (ii) the extent to which these needs are now being met, and how they are being met; (iii) the areas in which these needs are not being met; and (iv) the best means of improving the indnstry's research and development activities and its access to technical information"--page 1.
