"The Pacific Pilotage Authority is a federal Crown corporation established in 1972. It reports to Parliament through the Minister of Transport and is 1 of 4 pilotage authorities established under the Pilotage Act. This act sets out the corporation’s mandate, which is to establish, operate, maintain, and administer, in the interests of navigation safety, an efficient pilotage service in the Canadian coastal waters in and around British Columbia.
