"Didymosphenia geminata (Gomphonemaceae) blooms have been occurring on central Vancouver Island since 1988. Existing literature on D. geminata is restricted to general morphology. The occurrence of D. geminata accruals on Vancouver Island appears to be a novel event. Catchments with D. geminata were contrasted for similar geophysical and physicochemical trends"--Abstract, page i.
