5203 |a"Six bench scale test methods were assembled, which provide various measures of the lower limits of usability of aviation fuels. One of these was designed to measure fuel flow through reticulated polyurethane foams, used as a flame suppressant in aircraft fuel tanks. These tests were employed with fuels ranging from specification Jet A-1 to middle distillate blends of elevated freeze point containing No. 2 Diesel. A series of comparisons of results by the several methods is presented. A small amount of work was conducted using two flow improvers with several of the higher-freezing blends"--Abstract, page iii.
