"The Canadian Acid Aerosol Measurement Program (CAAMP) was established in 1992 to support an assessment of the health effects of acid-rain-related air pollutants. The main objectives of CAAMP are: determine the annual and seasonal average concentrations, peak levels (12-24 hr) and day to day variations in the concentration fine particle strong acidity (H+), fine mass (PM2.5) and coarse mass (PM10); estimate the Canadian population’s exposure to H+ , PM2.5 and PM10, to assess the significance of the results of ongoing particulate health effects research and to provide daily concentration time series for acute health effects studies. CAAMP is a joint effort of the Atmospheric Environment Service and the Environmental Protection Service of Environment Canada and the Air Quality Health Effects Research Section of Health Canada"--Abstract.
