"This Juristat article presents the most recent trends in police-reported hate crime in Canada using data from the Uniform Crime Reporting Survey (see Text box 1). More specifically, the first section of this article examines the number and characteristics of hate crime incidents reported by police in 2020. Due to the relatively small annual counts and variability in the reporting of hate crimes, the second section of this article examines characteristics of hate crime incidents, victims and accused based on total hate crimes reported from 2011 to 2020"--Page 4.
