An AES modelling study of medium-range transport of Hat Creek Power Plant emissions and their impacts / T. Agnew, J.D. Reid, and D. Faulkner. : En57-64/82-1E-PDF

"The B.C. Hydro proposed Hat Creek Thermal Power Station has become a significant concern for the many environmental impacts it may have. Amongst these, although perhaps not the major concern, is the potential impact on ecosystems relatively far removed from the plant site. In particular concern has focussed on potential acidification of surface water resulting from plant emissions of oxides of sulphur and nitrogen. This concern has been heightened by the realization that in eastern Canada and in the eastern United States emissions are being transported over long distances and then deposited to the surface either by direct impact to the surface or by incorporation in precipitation"--Introduction.
