"The environmental problems associated with the Long Range Transport of Air Pollutants (LRTAP) is a well documented issue. While acid rain or wet deposition has received considerable attention, it is now estimated that the dry component of acid deposition is of equal importance. Since much of the acid sensitive area of North America is covered with forest, the objective of this research is to measure the dry deposition of various gaseous and particulate air pollutants to one or more representative forests in Canada. Results from this study will be used in LRTAP models to estimate acid loading on larger space and time scales"--Summary.
