Results of a preliminary survey of the Great Slave Lake sport fishery / authorship, J. J. Keleher and B. E. Meeker. : Fs52-2/725E-PDF

"Since its commencement in 1945, the commercial fishery has been the major form of utilization of Great Slave Lake fish. For this reason it has been the main concern of the Board's study at the lake. Recently, however, angling has become more prevalent and it appeared desirable to assess this harvest so that the total utilization of the fish may be known. During the summer of 1961, an opportunity to initiate a study of the sport fishery was provided. A summer assistant Mr. J. Snarr, carried out a creel census at Great Slave Lodge, which is located at Taltheilei Narrows in the East Arm of the lake. While primary consideration is devoted to the creel census, this report also contains a review of the sport fishery, the results of some experimental angling, and a tabulation of the Northwest Territories angling licenses"--Introduction, page 1.
