"This report describes a new method of incubating salmonid eggs in natural or semi-natural environments. Its purpose is to increase substantially the rate of survival from potential egg deposition to fry emergence stage. Survival of eggs of chinook and coho salmon averaged 91.5% and 85.9% respectively and survival was high whether eggs were planted "green" or at the "eyed" stage. The incubation unit is simple, reusable, and easily planted into natural stream gravels"--Abstract, page iii.
