"Stochastic models are developed to study the success of a predator in its hunt for a prey or of a fishing vessel in its search for fish. Models are applicable to search for randomly located points, clusters of variable size and for schools represented by disks of variable radius. The prey density within schools may be fixed or variable. Allowance is made for possible escapement of prey. Capturing or delay time distribution may depend on the numbers of prey caught or the size of the school. The radius of perception of the predator may be fixed or variable"--Summary, page 1.
