Some features of the oceanography of the Passamaquoddy region / by W.B. Bailey. : Fs97-27/2E-PDF
"Passamaquoddy Bay, located just inside the entrance to the Bay of Fundy on the northwestern shore, is a large enclosed bay with an area of about 100 square miles. It is one of four large bays which are located more or less symmetrically about the Bay of Fundy as shown in Figure 1. At the head of the Bay of Fundy are Chignecto Bay and Minas Basin, while St. Mary Bay is located directly opposite from Passamaquoddy Bay. In size, Passamaquoddy Bay is the smallest, but it differs radically from the others in that its mouth is almost completely blocked by a chain of islands"--Introduction, general geography, page [1].
