"Observations made by the writer at the end of the summer season of 1929 had led to the conclusion that the cause of the frequent deaths of trout-fry and fingerlings in the Station water, reported by workers earlier in that and in preceding seasons, was the presence of small amounts of zinc and iron in soluable form, derived from the galvanised supply pipe"--page [1].
