Autolytic and bacterial changes in fish muscle at low temperatures / N.E. Gibbons. : Fs52-3/52E-PDF

"The organisms occurring in sea water and in fish feces and slime are of many types. These vary greatly in their proteolytic powers and temperature ranges. The low temperatures at which some grow have been noted by various workers (David, Harrison, Harrison et al.). The object of the present investigation was to determine whether organisms of this type have any effect on fish kept at low temperatures and to extend the work already done (Gibbons and Reed 1930)"--page [1].
