"As a preliminary step in the development of the oyster industry in the Shediac area, recently placed under Dominion jurisdiction, the Biological Board was requested to investigate the area from the point of view of its possibilities for oyster culture, in conjunction with exploratory fishing operations and cultural trials conducted by the Department of Fisheries"--page 1.
