"This synthesis report pertains to the assessment of acute and chronic effects of pulp mill effluents discharged in the northern rivers. It is based on existing reports, data and review papers. It includes a discussion of the ecotoxicological significance of the effluents, information gaps and further monitoring or study needed to fill these gaps. The study area includes the Peace River, the Athabasca River and the Slave River within Alberta and the Northwest Territories as well as their major tributaries"--Report summary.
