Sample preparation techniques such as solid phase extraction, superficial fluid extraction and derivatization were reviewed with respect to their applicability to chemical warfare agents. Identification techniques including; gas chromatography, mass spectrometry and nuclear magnetic resonance were examined in light of the need to confirm the identification of a chemical warfare agent in the presence of simple to complex background matrices"-- Abstract.
