"The fall lobster season in the Gulf of St. Lawrence opened 5 days earlier in 1937 than in previous years. The opening date was August 10th. The weather during the first part of the season was unusually hot and large losses were experienced by those engaged in handling lobsters, especially with lobsters for the live market trade"--Page [1].
