"On August 7, 2025, Prime Minister Mark Carney convened the Métis Major Projects Summit at the Royal Canadian Geographic Society in Ottawa, Ontario, to have a dialogue with Métis leadership on the implementation of the Building Canada Act. The Summit assembled the Presidents of seven Métis governments and organizations alongside the Prime Minister, a number of federal Cabinet Ministers, and senior Government of Canada officials.
