"Significant hydrocarbon potential in the Baffin Bay region and the growing human population and economy in Nunavut will result in a need for new marine infrastructure. The development of such projects requires scientific understanding of regional geological constraints to exploration and infrastructure development. This involves knowledge of the regional geological framework of Baffin Bay including glacial erosion, post-glacial sedimentation, and seabed geological hazards. This study analyzes all available subbottom profiler data in order to generate a map of the distribution of seabed types and morphological features to be used as a tool to better understand this framework"--Introduction, page 4.
