Strait of Georgia sport fishery creel survey statistics for salmon and groundfish, 1991 / by L.D. Collicutt and T.F. Shardlow. : Fs97-4/2137E-PDF

"Catch and effort statistics for the Strait of Georgia tidal sport fishery are presented for each month in 1991. The statistics were derived by combining the data from 22,000 interviews and 63 aerial surveys. Anglers conducted an estimated 467,000 boat trips and kept 157,000 coho, 116,000 chinook, 250,000 pink, 24,000 sockeye and 5,000 chum salmon, as well as 173,000 rockfish and 8,000 lingcod. Among salmon examined for marks, 4.9% of chinook and 2.0% of coho had adipose fin clips. The chinook catch consisted of 66% age 3 fish, 22% age 4, 7% age 5 or older and 5% age 2 fish. The length frequency distributions of the chinook, coho and lingcod catches are also given"--Abstract, page vii.
