"The Fraser River Estuary Project was undertaken to gather Oceanographic data necessary to describe the circulation and rate of exchange of the waters of the Fraser River Estuary, English Bay and Vancouver Harbour. The information was required by the Vancouver and Districts Joint Sewerage and Drainage Board in planning an extensive expansion of the sewage disposal system in Vancouver."--page [1].
