"[There are two beluga (Delphinapterus leucas) populations that summer in Cumberland Sound (DFO 2022), but aerial surveys are unable to distinguish them. Therefore, co-management partners manage the beluga whales in Cumberland Sound as a single stock. An aerial survey of beluga whales in Cumberland Sound was conducted in August 2023 as part of the High Arctic Cetacean Survey.
