Alexander Graham Bell National Historic Park, Nova Scotia . : R64-499/1981-PDF

"Alexander Graham Bell is best known for his invention of the telephone, but his genius carried him much further into scientific research than most people realize. He made important contributions to the fields of medicine, aeronautics, marine engineering and genetics. He carried out extensive research in the area of electricity, sound and speech. Of all his interests, however, the one that Bell himself identified as being closest to his heart, and certainly the one that ran through his adult life, was his interest in improving the teaching of the deaf. This guide will help you discover the story of this man as it is told at the Alexander Graham Bell National Historic Park. The maps on the other side of this brochure show the location of Park facilities and the layout of the three major display areas in the exhibit centre. You are encouraged to use these maps as a means of orientation to the Park. Park personnel are available to answer your questions and help make your visit enjoyable"--p. 1.
