The National Pollutant Release Inventory (NPRI) is a legislated inventory of pollutants released into the environment. These requirements explain who had to report to the NPRI in 2002 and what they had to report on. In general, any person who owned or operated a facility in Canada was required to report to the NPRI for 2002 if the facility met or exceeded all criteria related to activity type, number of employees, or hours worked, and handling of NPRI-listed substances.
