This report presents local and regional models for recommendations for practitioners and health care providers on allocating donor kidneys from deceased and non-directed living donors to patients on waiting lists. The recommendations cover human leukocyte antigen matching; wait times for patients on dialysis; medical issues, such as priority given to children, young adults and combined organ transplant recipients, age matching, criteria for kidneys and recipients, and medical urgency; ranking of patients; and information systems and research.
