This booklet highlights Canada’s ecological gifts program in which landowners can donate ecologically sensitive land for long-term protection. It focuses on the land appraisal process, and covers selecting an appraiser, identifying the property, appraisal requirements, what information to provide to the appraiser, the appraisal report, and the letter of engagement. Includes sample letters of engagement for assigning a value to a gift of land or to a conservation easement.
