This text of the current (1988) Act includes annotations on implementing the Official Languages Program in federal institutions. Explanatory notes cover language requirements for: Parliament; documents and texts issued by federal institutions, federal courts and civil proceedings; service to the public; media communications; and employment opportunities and the workplace. There is also discussion of the role of the Treasury Board and the Commissioner of Official Languages in implementing the Act.
