This constitution sets out rules for nominating and appointing members of the Order of Merit of the Police Forces. The Order of Merit of the Police Forces was established in October 2000 to honour a career of exceptional service or distinctive merit displayed by the men and women of Canadian Police Forces. The three levels of membership—Commander, Officer, and Member—reflect long-term, outstanding service with varying degrees of responsibility.
