Is work working? Work laws that do a better job : discussion paper : JL2-24/2004

This discussion paper examines the gaps in Canadian law and policy that leave some workers unprotected, exposed, and vulnerable. It looks at current labour market trends, chronicles the deregulation of labour and employment, and considers society’s interests in worker protection. Includes recommendations for reforming Canada’s labour and employment laws and policies to reduce worker vulnerability, enhance productivity, and distribute the rewards and costs of participation in the labour force more equitably.
