This guide is designed to help employers understand their legal obligations to eliminate discriminatory barriers in the workplace. It includes summaries of related provisions of the Canadian Human Rights Act and the Employment Equity Act. The guide outlines a model employers can use to develop policies on workplace accommodation; procedures for analyzing corporate programs and activities; and procedures for responding to accommodation-related requests by individuals. Appendices include forms, court decisions, and resources.
