Closing of the Pacific Regional Recourse Office .Rv55-5/2012-004E-PDF

The purpose of this notice is to inform Canada Border Services Agency staff (HQ and Regions) and clients of the consolidation of the Trade dispute appeals program. In 2009, the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) underwent a Strategic Review, mandated by the Government of Canada. As a result, an analysis of the Recourse program’s statistics revealed that the Pacific office had the lowest volume of appeals in the country, and was selected to be closed. Now, the Agency can realign its resources and continue to focus on areas that promote the health, security and safety of Canadians. The Pacific Regional Trade Disputes Office will officially close as of March 31, 2012.
