The data highlights provide information on socio-economic characteristics of women, Aboriginal peoples, persons with disabilities, and persons in a visible minority in Canada. These data were derived from the 1991 Census of Population and the 1991 Health and Activity Limitation Survey (HALS) and are based on the definitions of the designated groups as determined for employment equity purposes.
