“Germany is ranked the 5th largest bakery market in the world and is the largest in the EU, closing with US$16.5 billion worth of value sales in 2015. Despite the market's maturity, the sector continues to experience positive growth, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 1.5% from 2010 to 2015. Germany’s total imports of bakery products* was worth US$2 billion in 2015. The top bakery suppliers were Poland, Netherlands, and Italy together accounting for 43% of Germany’s imports.
