Report on overcrowding and multiple occupancy of dwellings in Canada, February 17-23, 1946 / Sampling Unit, Central Staff.: CS2-50/1946E-PDF
"The principal aim of the housing survey on which this report is based was to estimate the extent to which families are sharing living quarters at the present time, and to make interregional and a limited number of intercity comparisons of the prevalence of this symptom of overcrowding. It is apparent, however, that multiple occupancy of households does not in all cases mean that there is a shortage ot housing facilities. Therefore, tabulations have been made to show the number of households of different sizes classified by the number of available rooms and bedrooms"--Introduction.
