The work is largely confined to an examination of the 1941 Census data and follows closely the pattern of an earlier study on this subject by the same author which was one of a series of monographs based largely on the results of the 1931 Census. ... Preceding the detailed analysis in the chapters of this study is a summary of the findings and conclusions.
