More than money : architecture and art at the Bank of Canada = Au-delà de l'argent : l'architecture et les oeuvres d'art de la Banque du Canada.: FB2-33/2007-PDF

"The book opens with a chapter on the design and construction of the Bank’s original headquarters, focusing on the building’s exterior features. It then takes the reader inside the original building, as it was in 1938, and looks at the foundation of the art collection. Next, it examines the Bank’s wartime role and the resulting changes in its facilities, as well as its plans for expansion after the war. A description of the design and construction of the expanded headquarters during the 1970s follows, along with a tour of the complex’s exterior. The reader is then brought inside once again for an exploration of the principal rooms as they appear today, as well as some of the art found there. The final chapter offers an overview of other buildings that the Bank owned or built across the country. Works of art, drawn from the Bank’s collection and representing the various regions of the country, are showcased, together with some of the art commissioned specifically for the buildings themselves"--Foreword, p. 5.
