New alternative estimate of real industry value-added for Canada / by René Durand.: CS15-602/68E-PDF
"This paper presents a few of the estimates of the real value-added of the Canadian industries that were obtained through the application of a new deflation methodology presented in Durand (1994). These estimates, which bear over the last three decades, are compared to the standard estimates based on the double deflation method. The results show that the estimates based on these alternative methodologies differ substantially so that the choice between them is not a question of theoretical nicety. It does really matter. New theoretical developments are also reported that add further interpretation to the new deflation methodology"--Abstract.
