"The present report, which is to be regarded as an amplification of certain portions of the Special Report on Mortality in Canada, 1921-32, now in course of preparation, comprises a number of tables which were in the main compiled in response to a special request. As their compilation had required a considerable expenditure of time and effort and the resulting tables were thought to have considerable general value, it was decided to enlarge their scope a little and make them available to the public"--p. i.
