The effect of impurities on the mechanical properties of ice single crystals / T. Nakamura and S. J. Jones.: En36-502/24E-PDF

"Constant strain-rate tensile tests were carried out on single crystals of ice doped with various impurities such as HF, HCI, HBr, NH40H, NH4F, NaF, KF, NaOH, H202 and He. The tests were carried out in the temperature range of -5°C to -53°C. HF doped crystals showed a softening effect in this temperature range as well as in the lower temperature range previously reported"--Abstract.
