"This report highlights differences in housing choices between immigrants and non-immigrants based on an analysis of unpublished 1986 Census of Canada data. The analysis focuses on age-specific average household sizes and household headship rates, as well as tenure and dwelling type choices, for Canada as a whole, and to a lesser degree, the three major metropolitan areas of Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver. Variations in housing choices among immigrants due to such factors as place of birth, period of immigration and income are also examined"--Abstract.
